Today, I went to the official website of Penang Bridge International Marathon and I saw a news which is "Announcement: Venue of run back to first Penang Bridge" I felt disappointed because the running routes change back to the first Penang Bridge.

Yesterday,
the Penang Bridge International Marathon committee had a meeting with
various government agencies, and a decision has been made to change the
marathon venue and running routes back to the first Penang Bridge. After the tragedy at the Second Bridge in June, a thorough investigation was carried out and because the report from the investigations
is still not out to certify the safety of the bridge, a decision has to
be made. Therefore, in view of the safety of our runners, and to
prevent further delay in logistics and other preparations, it will be
best to have the marathon back on the first bridge this year. The
understanding of our runners is appreciated! |
